After a month of searching Doodle + Biscuit are both home safe and sound thanks to the help of our wonderful friends and neighbors. Check out pics of their homecoming!

another cat has gone misssing in Fairmount

I know how awful it is to have one of your critters slip out, so please keep an eye out for MJ Friedlander! He’s a 6yr old Orange male tabby with a white blaze on his nose. He was last seen on 12/21 on Meredith Street between 24th & 25th, 19130. He’s FIV+ and has Lymphoma. He takes prednisone and I’m sure his parents are worried just as much as MJ Friedlander is scared. He’s microchipped so please call 1-888-466-3242 if you see him. He’s super friendly, responds to “kitty treats” and will roll over to be pet.

Homecomings + Happy Endings

It’s been a little over a month since Biskerdu has been back together and I am still receiving emails and messages from people asking how the two are doing. I have also gotten a lot of requests for reunion pics…

The crew is doing great! Doodle did have some bite wounds on her when we found her but she has so far tested neg for FIV/FELV. The two have to get checked again in 3 months. Since Doodle was found a week after Biscuit it did take a few days for Biscuit to realize who she was but after 3 days went by the 2 were back to their normal selves… cuddling, playing ans scheming against their k9 big bros.

Again, we are so glad they are home and words can’t even express how thankful we are for everyone’s help in bringing these guys back to us safe and sound. Enjoy the pics!

Confirmed Doodle Siting @ 29th & Pennsylvania (pic sent via sms confirmed she was close by)

I still need to dry off and look our girl over, but we have her and she’s safe and sound at home thanks to an awesome neighbor who called to say he was pretty sure he saw our Doodlebug under a car at 29th & Pennsylvania. He even sent the pic (left) to confirm.

Even though we got his message a half hour from when he saw her  – he said she ran behind the condos on the 29th & Parrish. I have never ran somewhere, in flip-flops during a down-pour so fast in my life. We put down a can of cat food back by the dumpster and called for her softly. We heard her call back but couldn’t tell where it was coming from. Thankfully Chris followed behind me with flashlights and we spotted her under a car. We called to her but she kept running form car to car in the lot behind the condos. We lost site of her so we just put our food down and kept quiet. FINALLY, we heard a soft mew. She was under the last car. I took my flip-flops off ( they weren’t doing me much good anyway) and stuck the can of food under there. She started eating it and I started petting her underneath the car. REALLY slowly I started moving the can out from under the car and continued to pet her and talk to her softly. When she was far enough to grab her, I didn’t hesitate. I grabbed her with both hands, held as tight as I could without breaking her and booked home as fast as I could without risking falling on my face and dropping her. The whole time whispering softly to her. She didn’t move or struggle one bit. That seemed like the longest walk/run of my life!! Once I got her in to the kitchen and knew she was safe in the house for sure… I completely broke down. Chris took a picture of that moment. Maybe I’ll share it someday.

So, THANK YOU to everyone who has posted, re-posted, fliered, drove around after work @ 3am, sent words of well-wishes & support, mapped out areas of sitings, rode your bikes around the hood before & after work & in the middle of the night, talked to neighbors & spread the word, printed flyers, kept your eyes out wherever you went, let us go through your homes, yards & alley-ways, kept us in your thoughts and pulled you cars over in the pouring rain to check out the stray calico that ran under a car.
We wouldn’t have these guys home now, safe & sound, if it wasn’t for all of you.
I can’t express how thankful we are.
xoxo

Doodle Seen @ 29th & Oxford?

09/28/2010

Doodle was seen at doodle29th and Oxford around 5:45pm today outside of the Orange deli by a neighbor who was in that area. He was able to describe her exactly. He went to grab the flier in his car to double-check that he wasn’t going to grab the wrong cat, especially since he is very allergic, and she was gone by the time he got back. The woman who was there said she had ducked down an alley. This make complete sense especially since she has been spotted by the CSX tracks at 30th & Ogden & around 31st & Girard. She may be traveling up the tracks – I just hope she hunkers down somewhere and doesn’t continue to keep traveling north. I had sometime before it got dark to travel a little north up the tracks today and explore a little by the new condos on Girard. I will try to check out the area she was seen during the day tomorrow after Biscuit’s vet appointment.

This girl is really getting around. sheesh.

Doodle Spotting!

09/26/2010

A neighbor/friend walking her dog this morning spotted a cat that meets Doodle’s exact description at 27th & Parrish (2 blocks east of our house). The cat took off possibly down an open alley near the A A Auto & Truck Repair @ 2622 Parrish St slightly East of where she was seen, and didn’t return after being called and prompted.

We scoped out the area and posted fliers. We even brought biscuit over there in his carrier and he continued to call out for her but he is exhausted now after crying out for her non-stop since Thursday night. His voice is getting horse but thankfully I recorded his calls and have been playing them over and over as we walk around outside. My husband also went back out there with our dog Nathan hoping that she may be able to smell him and track his scent back home. They are best buds too.

I’m hoping to get more fliers printed tomorrow and talk to some of the neighbors who’s homes back the alley that she might have went down – maybe they are leaving food out back there like some of our neighbors are doing. I feel like we are on a wild goose chase that will never end. No positive ID’s have been made but she did fit the description well.

Thanks again for looking out everyone! This is stressful and exhausting but we want our girl home and so do her 3 brothers.

Doodle is STILL MISSING!

09/26/2010

With the help of our wonderful neighbors Biscuit is home. Unfortunately Doodle is still missing. We are thrilled to have him back but since his return late Thursday night he has not stopped calling out for her. His voice is actually getting horse (it breaks my heart to know they are apart, but if she is close she will hear him). Between running back and forth to the vet and having to go leave town for an important (and must I say very successful) fundraising event, I haven’t been able to make updated fliers and send out new info until now.

So just to recap, Doodle disappeared w/her brother Biscuit from 29th & Ogden St. (between Poplar & Parrish in the Fairmount/Art Museum/ Brewerytown Area – 19130) on 9/8/10 when her owners were on vacation. BISCUIT HAS RETURNED but DOODLE is STILL MISSING! She’s 1 yr old & about 10 lbs. She’s an orange, black & white calico w/a large white patch under her neck & chin, a white belly & paws and some white on her hind legs. She has a distinct orange patch bridging from the top of her nose over her left eye. She’s VERY SWEET but is extremely SHY & SCARED . Doodle will most likely RUN when approached. There have been potential sitings around the CSX railroad tracks that run along 30th Street and there was a potential siting around 30th & Girard around 2:30am on Sunday morning.

Doodle may still be hiding out close by or may be scared and running around. Hopefully she will hear Biscuit’s cries for her from the window and follow his voice home. Please, please… keep your eyes out for her. Especially at night around 9/10pm and early in the morning. We appreciate everyone’s continuous help, love and support and we can’t wait to have her home with us.

Please call 215-534-2311 if you see or hear anything.

Please click here if you would like to download an updated color PDF flier to print or reference. For additional pics of Doodle and the gang visit the Photos Page.

Thanks again.
